PURVIS -- Toni Purvis, 38, of Albuquerque, joined her grandfathers, John and Sparky, and her best friends Ali and Julie, in heaven on Tuesday, 13 October 2009. She is survived by her grandmothers, Joyce Parten and Fannie Purvis; her mother, Sheila Griffis; her father, James Purvis; and her brother, Bryan; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Toni was born February 20, 1971 in Opelika Alabama. She spent her early years chasing butterflies in Auburn Alabama and building snowmen in northern Virginia, before moving to Albuquerque with her family in 1980. Toni played softball at Mile High Little League and soccer in the Classic Football Club in Duke City Soccer League. She graduated from Manzano High School and attended several years at UNM. A lover of cats, dogs, and people down on their luck, she could be generous to a fault. With a winning smile and a sardonic wit, she was a great addition to both camping trips and dinner parties. An adventurous but shy travel lover, she began to bloom as a photographer on a summer trip to Germany, Belgium and France. Family as well as friends from Hannover and Paris still have some of her photographs. We all miss you Toni-Boni. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, October 20, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at French ~ Wyoming Chapel. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Friends and family may visit French ~ Wyoming location on Monday, October 19, 2009, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please visit our online guestbook for Toni www.RememberTheirStory.com French 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE (505) 823-9400
