DEMARK -- Judith Lynn De Mark, beloved wife of Ramon S. De Mark, passed away on the 27th of August, 2009, at the Presbyterian Kaseman hospice unit. She bravely fought stage 4 colon/liver cancer for four years and four months. She received her PhD in history from the University of New Mexico and taught American history at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan for eight years. She also taught at New Mexico State University and Central New Mexico Community College. Always a popular professor, she enjoyed her students and teaching. She was admired by scores of friends and acquaintance, for her humor, generosity of heart and empathy for her students. Her grandson, Daniel was the light of her life in recent years. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her as a loving wife, dedicated friend, and caring human being. She was born in Weston, West Virginia, on November 7th, 1941, but grew up in Orlando, Florida, where she met her husband-to-be in August, 1963. They were married in November, 1963 and she traveled extensively with her husband while he was on active duty in the US Navy. They returned to Albuquerque in 2001 to enjoy their retirement. She is survived by her husband, Ramon; daughter, Kimberly Jo Slade (De Mark) and grandson Daniel, residing in Denver, Colorado, with husband and father, Eric Slade. She is also survived by her sister Billie Jo Harder (Boyce), residing in DeLand, Florida. Her parents, William Boyce and Mary Jo Boyce (Miller) are deceased. A private memorial and celebration of her life will be held.
