NORTON -- Jean Yost Norton, 76, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on June 27, 2009. Jean was born in Mullins, SC on June 20, 1933 but lived most of her childhood in Greeneville, TN. She accompanied her Air Force husband, Lt. Col. Alfred Dobson Norton, Ed.D., on assignments in Texas, Vermont, Japan, Colorado, and Tennessee before settling in Albuquerque. She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Leslie and Michael Clark of Gilbert, AZ and Rae and Dan Hardage of Albuquerque, NM. Jean enjoyed two grandchildren, Joshua Norton and Allison Clark as well as two great-grandchildren, Tayla and Nathaniel Norton. Other close family members include her sister and brother-in-law, Sonny and Star Hashe of Piedmont, SC and her brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Peggy Yost of Greeneville, TN. Jean spent a lifetime studying classic, popular, and non-fiction literature, earning a reputation as a font of wisdom on diverse topics.
