FELIX -- Leroy Orlando Felix, 68, a life long resident of Albuquerque, NM went to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday, June 8, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Felix was born and raised in Martineztown and he later re-located to the Atrisco neighborhood. He owned and operated a very successful landscaping business which serviced many local residents. He was an advocate in the development of the westside and south valley communities. He was very involved in local politics and ran for city coucilman; he was the president of the Los Volcanes neighborhood association; he volunteered his time with the West Mesa Community Center; and also served as a citizen police officer. Mr. Felix was preceded in death by his parents Cipriano and Christina Felix. He is survived by his three honored and proud children Rudy Felix and fiance Debra, Edward Felix, and Linda Montoya and husband, Stephen; daughter- in- law, Eileen Chavez; mother of his children, Gloria Felix; two sisters, Nancy Sandoval and husband, Ray and Frances Pacheco and husband, Greg; one brother, Leo Felix and wife, Rita; five loving grandchildren, Sabrina Felix, Heather Limon and husband, Vicente, P.J. Montoya, Eric Montoya, and Felicia Felix; and his precious great-granddaughter Jolyssa Finley. We are so blessed and proud to have had you in our lives and will always hold you in our hearts. We love you Dad, "Tata". Visitation will be Thursday, June 11, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 8:30 a.m. A communion service will follow at the Church at 9:00 a.m., Deacon Harry Bear, presider.
