MACPHERSON -- Annette Brandt MacPherson, age 100, went home to heaven on Wednesday, May 20, 2009. She lived a long, full, and productive life. Annette took nurses' training and joined the Army Nurse Corp, serving in World War II under General MacArthur in the South Pacific Theater. She received a commendation from President Truman. Annette married Dr. Norman MacPherson in 1954 and found herself a pastor's wife, living in Long Beach, CA, Brookings, SD and Albuquerque, NM. Her husband died in 1980, and Annette lived in a mobile home until 2006, she started falling. Reluctantly, she accepted the kind services of St. Theresa's Healthcare until she passed away. She made many friends there and on December 13, 2008 she was hosted at her 100th birthday party attended by many friends and relatives from nine states. Annette was the last survivor of a farming family in Michigan, one of five children. There are many nieces and nephews who have doted on her. Annette is also survived by step children, Alice Benson, David and Bruce MacPherson. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 6:30 p.m., at Monterey Baptist Church, 12501 Lomas Blvd. NE.
