HOWARD -- Edwin Euell "Happy" Howard, 76, a long time resident of Albuquerque, NM, went home to be with the Lord peacefully at Presbyterian Kaseman Hospice on May 17, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Charlotte and their children Karen, Brian, Bruce and wife Ann, and Brent and wife Christy; his sister Marie; his grandchildren Jonathan, Becky, Sarah, Seth, Alexander, GraceAnne, Brennan and Tallie; great- grandchildren, Emma and Hailey. After graduating from Baylor University he served as Pastor of several churches in Bell County, Texas. He was an avid runner and also enjoyed participating in numerous marathons in New Mexico and Texas, including the La Luz Trail Run. He was a military man through and through serving 32 years active Army National Guard and upon retirement was awarded the Legion of Merit for his many years of dedicated service to his country. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Christian Fellowship Church located at 3901 Claremont Avenue NE. The family would like to thank the kind and compassionate people of the 7th floor nursing staff at Presbyterian Hospital and the nurses and staff at Presbyterian Kaseman Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, Church Street Station, P.O. Box 780, New York, NY 10008-0780.
