MACCURDY -- Blanche "Becky" Wolf MacCurdy was born in Baton Rouge, LA on Sunday, July 16, 1916 and went to meet her Savior on Tuesday, April 28, 2009. She was preceded in death by both parents, William L. Wolf and Marguerite LeJeune Wolf; and by four older siblings. A resident of Albuquerque since 1949, she is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, Raymond R. "Tim" MacCurdy; two sons, George Grant MacCurdy of Alhambra, CA, and William Douglas MacCurdy of Albuquerque; one grandson, James Raymond MacCurdy of Los Angeles; two granddaughters, Ruth Cohen of Teaneck, NJ and Katherine MacCurdy of Albuquerque; and two great-grandsons, Eliron Cohen and Joseph Nasr of Teaneck, NJ. A graduate of LSU, Becky worked during WWII as a script girl in the Army Pictorial Division (APD) which, under the direction of several well-known producers and script writers (among them, Darryl Zanuck, John Huston and Richard Maibum) made documentary and morale-building films such as the "Why We Fight" series. In Albuquerque Becky has served as the director of the Pan-American Round Table, President of the UNM Faculty Women's Club, President of the Newman Center Women's Guild, and President of the Service League of the UNM Hospital. As a result of her 25 years in volunteer service at the hospital, she was featured on the television series entitled "People Who Make A Difference." A Rosary will be recited Monday, May 4, 2009, 5:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2009, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to a charity of your choice.
