STANFORD -- Orella Stanford, 76, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009. She is survived by her three daughters and one son-in-law, Patsy Wells of Albuquerque, Betty Wiley of Henderson, Nevada, Carol and Daryl Danielson of Vernon, AZ; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Wayne and Callie Stanford of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren Sabrina Martus, Lena Brickley and Sylvia DeLuca all of Albuquerque, David, Deborah and Daniel Wiley all of Henderson, NV, Mathew and Malissa Danielson, both of Vernon, AZ, Shane Stanford of Rio Rancho, NM, James and Justin Stanford both of Edgewood, NM; seven great-grandchildren, Blaizze, Jamie-Lynn, Skyler, Snowden, William, Forrest and Vincent all of Albuquerque; one sister Helen Morrison of Albertville, AL; three brothers, James Currie of Rocky Face, GA, Donald Currie of Boaz, AL and Ronald Currie of Albertville, AL; two aunts, numerous cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by one son, Boyd Ernie Stanford; and her parents. Orella was born in Douglas, AL the daughter of Herman and Dora Currie. She graduated from Douglas High School. She moved to Magdalena, NM in 1968, moved to Tijeras in 1975, and later moved to Mora and Albuquerque. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and various other crafts. She devoted her life to helping others and was Volunteer of the Year in 1995 for the Southern Baptist Home Mission Board Mission Service Corp for her work with the Neighborhood Center. She taught sewing and crafts to anyone who came by and wanted to learn. She was a member of the Blake Road Baptist. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 10:30 a.m., at the Blake Road Baptist Church, 1704 Blake Road SW, Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association, American Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice.
