FRANKEN -- Christi Ray Franken a longtime resident of Las Vegas, NM passed away Saturday evening, January 24, 2009 after a prolonged illness. Christi was born January 12, 1957, at Sandia Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM to James H. Ray and Angelina Quattrocchi Ray. Christi attended the University of New Mexico and earned a BA in Business Administration in 1979 and later earned her M.B.A. at New Mexico Highlands University. She married James H. Franken on June 20, 1981and has two son's Jared S. and Brent J. Franken. During her professional career she touched the lives of many working as a Nursing Home administrator, a Coordinator for a nonprofit Literacy volunteer organization and as a business and computer teacher at Roberston High School. She was active outside of her career as a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church and as a member of P.E.O. Christi spent her time at home occupied with her horses, dogs, and cats. Christi is survived by her husband, Jim; her two sons, Jared and Brent; her mother, Angelina; her brother, Steve; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and her inseparable "third son", Nico. We would like to thank the many friends, family, care-givers, and health-care professionals who touched Christi during her life. Christi will be missed dearly by all. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, located at 201 Mountain View Dr., Las Vegas, NM with Pastor Steve Taylor and Father George V. Salazar. Serving as casket bearers: Julie Franken, Jeff Franken, Daniel Franken, Rachelle Ray, Shane Franken, Aslynn Franken, Shannon Johnson, and Erika Ray. Cremation will follow after services with interment of cremains at a later date. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations should be directed to the Susan G.
