CHAVEZ -- Wenceslado Wences Chavez was laid to rest in the San Clemente Cemetery on January 20, 2009. At this time, I would like to thank all the many fine folks who in any way helped Wences during his last months on earth. Dr. Tamar Arbel and Dr. Larry Walters thank you for your loving care, you made a difference. Dr. Thomas Downs and the great team in the VA Oncology Dept. for their compassionate care. Fr. David Cline for your prayers and care. Fr. Hoi Tran and Deacon Eddie Espinosa for the comforting funeral services. Alexis and Christian Chavez for the readings, Carlos & Vicki Otero for providing the excellent music. Edward Chavez & crew for opening the grave. Bernie Beatty with Mary Stella Baca, Jennifer Baca and helpers for the reception. Dicky Romero & staff at Romero Funeral Home, you do an outstanding job of coordinating and comforting. Mike Pena, John Sanchez, Rene Valenzuela, Kristy Silva, Edward Chavez, Thomas Chavez, Steven Chavez, Justin Farless, James Farless and Christin Farless for being pallbearers. Rene Valenzuela, Patrick Ortiz, Gene Ortiz and Christopher Ortiz for joining Justin and Steven in releasing the doves of peace. Thank you to all who attended the services, sent food, flowers, or in any way extended their condolences. To Philip James for being a friend. To my Primo(a)s Mary & Ernie Sanchez and John Sanchez who came from Denver and helped with everything. Neighbors David Knotts, Charles Griego, Barry & Lori Woods for their help with the farm work. The Godfather of the Chavez clan, Tio Manuel & Tia Nila Chavez, you were always there for Wences. Wences' brother and sisters, Eddie Chavez, Clarita (Orlando) Lopez, Oralia Otero, Merlinda (Joe) Perea, Reina (Willie) Garley, Bernie (Paul) Beatty, Mabel Pena, and Laura Padilla you gave unstintingly of your love and support throughout all the years. To the numerous nephews & nieces, thank you for including us in your many celebrations for baptisms, communions, graduations and weddings. Wences was particularly proud to lead your wedding marchas To daughter Diana Stow, sons Justin & Sharon Farless and Steven & Stephanie Chavez, grandchildren Rene Valenzuela, Christin Farless, James Farless, Stevie Chavez & Destiny Farless thank you for staying at our side and taking care of Dad and Grandpa.
