VALDEZ -- Pete E. Valdez, 84, resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rose M. Valdez; sons, Vince Valdez and wife, Annabelle, and Fred Valdez and wife, Sue; daughter, Valerie Valdez; grandchildren, Gabrielle Valdez, Dominic Valdez and wife, Tanyia, Christopher Valdez and wife, Christina, Jennifer Valdez-Martinez, Marie Arrieta and husband, Robert, and Sarah Valdez, Lynette Valdez, Liz Valdez-Justiniano and husband, Tony; great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Danielle, Samantha, Marissa and Jayden Valdez, Amber Escamilla, Tamara and Kevin Martinez, Ethan Deetz-Valdez, Diego Arrieta, and Brenden and Marcus Justiniano; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Josephine Trujillo and husband, Abe, Anne Sekot and husband, John, and Jane Acosta and husband, Carlos; and brother, Ernest Valdez. Pete was born in Dawson, NM. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was very proud of his family, and he will be greatly missed. Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, December 22, 2008, 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper NW.
