GIBSON -- Betty Marie Gibson, 83 of Mesa, Arizona, peacefully passed away December 12, 2008. She was born February 9, 1925 to George and Lima Meta Lefler of Winner, South Dakota. After graduation from Weslyan College she went into nurses training in Chicago, Illinois where she met and married Raymond Gibson on February 12, 1945. Together they raised four children in South Holland, Illinois, and eventually moved to Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, for their retirement years. Betty will be joining in heaven to celebrate the holidays with many friends and relatives including her parents, loving husband, Raymond, brother, Dale Lefler, Aunt Ione and Uncle Carl Schwingl, special friends Corky Blankenship and Buelah Heymers, Emma Moore, and Lucy Brown. Betty is survived by her loving and devoted sons and daughter who are Dennis of Mesa, Arizona (Sio) Dirk, of Albuquerque, New Mexico (Angela) Laura living in Greentown, Indiana (Mark) and Dean also from Albuquerque, New Mexico (Laura). Grandchildren include Grant, Mitchell, Erica, Emily, U.S. Marine Corps recruit Adam R. Gibson, and Special Friend Hope. Also brother-in-law John Gibson, of St. Petersburg, Florida, sister-in-law, Doris Kitto, of Platteville, Wisconsin, Special cousin Cheryl Case of Phoenix, Arizona (Artie) and Aunt Wilberta Ogden of Rewey, Wisconsin. Upon first arriving in Mesa, Betty lived at the Grand Court assisted living home where she will be missed by life-long friends Carrie Hawkey, Shirley Stephans, Ruth Vallie, Ella Geist and many, many others. Services are being set for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the Cabalo Church at Cabalo, New Mexico. Betty's final resting place will be with Raymond at Sierra Vista Cemetery in Truth or Consequences. In lieu of flowers the family request appropriate memorials to the East Clinical Office of Hospice of the Valley in Mesa, Arizona.
