SEGURA -- Emmie Garcia Segura, of Albuquerque and Taos, died peacefully at her Albuquerque home on Wednesday, October 15, 2008. She was born in Ranchos de Taos, NM on Saturday, October 14, 1916 to Juan J. Garcia and Bernardita M. Leyba. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Segura; brothers, Manuel Garcia, Dr. Estaquio Garcia, John Garcia, Uvaldo Duran, Joe Duran and sisters, Maggie G. Cruz, Fillie G. Gray and Vivian G. Quintana. Emmie is survived by her daughter, Henrietta Roudabush; sons, Evan Segura and Marty Segura; grandsons, Brian and Charles Roudabush; great grandchildren, Donovan, Christian, Brianna, Cicely and Alec Roudabush, all of California; sister Elvira Cobos and husband, Ruben Cobos of Albuquerque; nephew, Ruben Cobos Jr.; nieces, Ruby Quintana and family of Rio Rancho, Yolanda Padilla and family of Taos, Dr. Renee Cobos and family of California, Dr. Francine G. Holcomb and family of California, Olga Quintana Anson and family of Colorado Springs, and many more nephews and nieces. She was a 1934 graduate of the Harwood Girl School in Albuquerque and operated a successful hair salon in Espanola before marrying her husband. During World War II she worked at Sandia National Labs and at Douglas Aircraft Company in Santa Monica, California. While her husband served in the US Air Force, Emmie and her family lived in Manila, Philippines and Tokyo, Japan. During the 1970's, while her husband worked for Northrop-Grumman, Emmie lived in Isfahan, Iran. Emmie fondly recalled numerous stories and adventures from her worldly travels. After returning to New Mexico, Emmie worked for the state of New Mexico for 16 years and retired as a Social Worker. She maintained homes in Ranchos de Taos and Albuquerque. She will truly be missed by family, friends and all who knew her. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4200 Lomas Blvd NE, at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2008.
