MAES -- Benito (Bennie) Maes, 92, a lifelong resident and rancher of Progresso and Willard went to be with the Lord on Oct. 24, 2008 with his loving family by his side. Bennie was born on February 19, 1916 to Francisco and Alicia Maes. He is survived by his daughters, Romualda Garley of Albuq., Isabel Maes of Alamogordo, Tina Barnes and husband, Gene of Santa Fe, and Roberta Pohl and husband, Alfred of Chilili, sons, Art and wife, Margie of Albuq., Ronald and wife, Liz of Tajique, Frank and wife, Karen of Willard, 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Gertrude Lueras and Mollie Torres, sisters-in-law, Jesusita and Maria Maes all of Albuq. Bennie was preceded in death by his wife Esquipula, his parents, his sister Maria, and brothers, Ambrocio, Epifanio and Enriquez. A rosary will be recited on Mon., Oct. 27 2008, 7:00 pm and a mass of the resurrection will be celebrated on Tues. Oct. 28, 2008, 10:30am at Our Lady of Sorrows church, Willard with Father Anthony Maes officiating. Harris/Hanlon Morturary.
