LORD -- John H. A Father, A Grandfather, We Miss You... On a warm October day kissed by the sun a year ago, you were taken from us here in your home filled with love. After afternoon prayers just said by family and friends present. To awake in a light so glorious our star paled. And to tenderly be reunited with a wife long gone. I cannot yet relinquish the items which were part of you... As these empty rooms loom so quiet and still with imprints of memories. Recently the smell of your cologne so many times worn awakened me. It lingers and washes over your carpet so soft and blue. I know you are here...watching over us; your daughter and grandson. I shall visit your grave again..special to this anniversary day of your journey and bring love, gratitude and a mix of sorrow and longing for your presence. While the balloons and flowers and teddy bears surround you and Mom, I shall remember your strength, your courage, and your faith in right. We know deep down, that someday..we will again see each other and reunite. We will never forget...Jordan and I ...your sacrifice. We Love and Miss you Dad...In Honor of You...We give the following: How lucky to have had so good a father! A grandfather! On us his warm, unstinting sun long shone. We were, of his hardworking life, the center, Loved for the pure joy of love alone. Uncanny are the requisites of pleasure, Coming as they do within the will. Knowing well where lay his greatest treasure, Years on years of love he labored still.
