FELDSER -- Freda "Ben" Feldser died Saturday, September 27, 2008 after 45 years in Albuquerque, her adopted home. She was born May 15, 1921 in Liverpool, England to Frederick Ernest Bennett and Elizabeth Roberts Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband Sidney in 2002, after 58 years of marriage and is survived by her daughter, Heather Gallegos-Rex and husband Leo of Tijeras, NM; by granddaughter, Andrea Rex and husband Brad Manuel of Berkeley, CA; and by grandson, Nathaniel Rex and wife Wren and great-granddaughter Scarlett of Fairfield, CT. She met Sidney Feldser, a member of the US Army Air Corps during World War II, after she defied her parents wishes and at age 19, joined the British Royal Air Force, which shared a base with the Americans in Preswick, Scotland. She married him two years later in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and joined him in the United States a year after the war ended, 1946. An adventurous woman of style, elegance, and a rich sense of humor, she charmed all who knew her. Heartfelt thanks go to the Chavez Family and all the loving and dedicated staff at Casa de Rosa Assisted Living, her last home and one she dearly loved. Cremation has taken place through Direct Funeral Services, and per her wishes, no service will be held. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW. ABQ. 505-343-8008
