MODERN -- Jehnet Modern, beloved wife of the late Robert J. Modern, died on August 29, 2008. She is survived by her children; Michael Modern and Wendy Gallagher; her grandchildren, Michelle Hunter and Renai Gallagher, her great grandchildren Abigail and Zoe Hunter and Rowan Gallagher; her loving sister Esther Schnitzler; cousin Betty Wartell; nephews David and Robert Schnitzler; special friend Grace Hernandez and the many compassionate caregivers. Jehnet graduated from NYU, in 1937, with a master's degree in education. She was a resident of Las Cruces for 40 years where she taught school prior to moving to Albuquerque. Jehnet was a voracious reader, quick witted, and was inspired by the outdoors. Her gift of love, joy and laughter will be missed by all. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 2, at 12:30 pm. Cremation has taken place.
