LUCERO -- Joe Lucero was born July 12, 1932 in Algodones, New Mexico. A resident of San Ysidro, New Mexico since 1974, he passed away Monday, August 18, 2008 at the age of 76. Joe enjoyed fishing, hauling wood for the fireplace, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Flora Lucero; his son, Gilbert; grandson, Gary; and great-granddaughter, Mariah Grace. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carmen; his children: two sons, Tony Lucero, Albert Lucero and his wife, Esther; four daughters, Ruby Lucero, Rose Mary Gonzales and her husband, Sammy, Virginia Gallegos and her husband, Robert, Elizabeth Baker and her husband, Richard; his brother, Bonifacio H. Lucero; his sister, Edwina Montoya; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; thirteen god children, as well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Memorial Services will be held at San Ysidro Catholic Church in San Ysidro, NM. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, August 22, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date in Bernalillo, New Mexico at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery.
