GALLEGOS -- Willie Gallegos, age 82, a resident of Belen, NM and formerly of Logan, NM, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 17, 2008. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. Willie was a life-time rancher and cattleman. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, La Merced Family Center 2550, in Rio Communities. Willie was a loyal loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was very well known and respected and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Frances (Vigil) Gallegos; his father, Ferriolo Gallegos; his mother, Mary (Garcia) Gallegos; two sisters, Della McDonald and Caroline Sundby; and son-in-law, Manuel Cordova. Willie is survived by his three loving children, Vickie Cordova of Albuquerque, NM, Billy Gallegos and wife, Janet of Belen and Stella Gallegos of Belen; three grandchildren, Andrea and Armando Cordova of Albuquerque and Shawna Gallegos of Odessa, TX; great-granddaughter, Gabriella McCathy; sister, Elise Virgason of San Pedro, CA and brother, Lonnie Gallegos of Logan. He is also survived by several loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved his humor and will miss him dearly. A visitation will be held at Romero Funeral Home, on Monday, August 17, at 5:30 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, at 10:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Sign Willie's online register book at www.romerofuneralhomenm.com.
