GUENLEY -- William Guenley, beloved son, husband and dad passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2008, after a brief illness. Bill was a graduate of Moriarty High School. He was promoted to 1st Lt in the field in Vietnam, where he received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star with Valor. He married Linda Sponenburgh in June 1972; they lived in Albuquerque. Their wonderful son, William was born while living in Taylor Ranch and later moved to Adelino. He attended Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute and graduated with computer programming skills. He worked his way up and made many friends at the NM Department of Labor, retiring in July 2001 after 27 years. Bill attended the University of New Mexico over three decades. He enjoyed many hobbies including photography, rock hounding and building wooden ships. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda; son, Will; mother, Barbara; brother, Vaughan; nephews, Ty and Gabe. Bill will be missed by many, some of whom we will never know. He is now at peace. A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at French Mortuary, University Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
