JACKSON -- Velma M. Jackson, age 88 of Albuquerque, NM, passed away Monday, August 4, 2008. She was born July 27, 1920 in Mishawaka, IN to Carl B. and Genevieve O. Helvey. She moved here with her husband, Ernest W. Jackson and her family, from Peoria, IL, in 1960. Together they owned and operated Enchanted Homes Inc. for many years. Mr. Jackson preceded his wife in death in 1996, after more than 50 years of marriage. Mrs. Jackson worked for APS for over 25 years, most recently at Madison Middle School prior to her retirement. Surviving are her daughter, Anne M. Cox and her husband Dennis C. Cox of Albuquerque; her son, James R. Jackson and his wife Cathy Jackson of Belen, NM; grandchildren, Christi and her husband Dave Warner, Brad Reynolds, Todd Jackson and Diane Cox; great-grandchildren, Mikae, Jorden, Destyne and Alex; sister, Virginia Cherry; and brother, Virgil Helvey, both of Indiana. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 9, 2008, at 1:30 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel.
