PENNYBACKER -- Ed Pennybacker, 80, well-known radio and television newscaster from the 1960s (KQEO radio) to the 1980s (KOAT-TV) and longtime resident and trustee of the Village of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sallie Pennybacker of Albuquerque; daughters, Susan Michele Kuliasha and husband, Michael Priestap of Knoxville, TN; Deborah Carol Tissot and husband, Ralph of Albuquerque; grandsons, Ian Andrew Kuliasha, his wife, Jasmine, and Cary Alexander Kuliasha, all of Knoxville, TN; and "Ryan", Champion Albedo Spark In The Dark, Daddy's dog. A Service will be held in Mr. Pennybacker's honor on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Chapel. A private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
