CALKINS -- Shirley Calkins, 85, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2008. She is survived by her two sons, William Calkins of Albuquerque and Myron Calkins, Jr. and wife Martha of Tucson, AZ; three grandchildren, Christopher, Katherine, and William, all of Tucson, AZ; and other relatives and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Myron E. Calkins on October 25, 2006. She was born in Bay Minette, Alabama on April 20, 1923 to William and Mary Breitling Beebe. Shirley was a loving wife, dedicated mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a life-long Democrat and party activist.
