NUNEZ -- Joe Lucio Nunez, 86, a life long resident of Albuquerque, after a battle with cancer, went home to the Lord with his family at his side on Monday, June 30, 2008. Joe was a Sgt in WWII, with the US Army. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rose Marquez Nunez; his six daughters Patricia Funes (Felix), Toni Gallegos (Johnny), Judith Nunez, Jackie Ortiz (Ronnie), Victoria Nunez and Darlene Dimas (Ray); 24 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita Martinez; and brother, Pablo Nunez. He was preceded in death by his great-grandson Jordan Greigo; and sons David and Alexander Nunez. Rosary will be recited Sunday, July 6, 2008, 5:00 p.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Road, NE. Mass of the Resurrection will be Monday, July 7, 2008, 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be Joshua, Gabriel, Richard, Ray Jr., Joseph, and Luis. Honorary pallbearers will be Sean and Antonio. Visitation will begin at one hour prior to the Rosary.
