RHODEN -- Kenneth Doyle Rhoden, 86, of Albuquerque peacefully passed away Saturday March 22, 2008, at The Veterans' Home in Truth or Consequences. Mr. Rhoden was born in Broken Bow, Oklahoma on April 24, 1921, to the late Guy George and Zela Rhoden. He grew up in the Estancia Valley and was a proud member of the U.S. Army during World War II. Before retirement, he was a longtime employee of General Tire and Creamland Dairies. He was an active member of the Democratic Party and also served as Justice of the Peace during the 1960's. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and camping. He will be remembered for his gentle nature and kind words for everyone he met. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Guy Hershel, and a sister, William David (Billie); and his wife, Ernestine Johnson, in 2001. He is survived by his three children, Maxine Roach and husband, Jim, of Los Lunas, Jody Blanks and husband, Gary, of King, North Carolina and Pamela Gail Burke and husband, Bruce, of Albuquerque; a sister, Betty Lou Sever; six grandchildren, Denita Richards, Janell Thomas and husband, Melvin, Traci Haynes, Kenneth Blanks and wife, Renea, Eric Blanks and wife, Amie, and Billy Rhoden; 11 great-grandchildren, Clayton Richards, Jimmy, Jared and Faith Thomas, Colton and Lane Haynes, Ethan and Zachary Blanks, and Emma, Abigail and Isabella Blanks. Services will be held Saturday, March 29, 2008, 11:00 a.m., at Sandia Church of the Nazarene, 8216 Central SE. Burial will be held Monday, March 31, 2008, 10:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends and family may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, Friday, March 28, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and doctors of the Veteran's Home in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico for the special care and love given to Mr. Rhoden and his family.
