JOHNSON -- Sidney Wilborn Johnson, 92, of Albuquerque, died peacefully on February 5, 2008. He was born on December 12, 1915, in Vshti, TX. He was the son of William Arthur and Lillie Lorene Johnson. Sidney graduated high school in Kiowa, NM, and received his undergraduate degree from New Mexico State University. He then taught mathematics in Madrid, NM, where he met Carroll Alma Howell, and they were married in 1939. Sidney then joined the United States Army Air-Corp, and served his country as a bombardier in WWII. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Taos, NM, to start a trucking company in 1949, hauling movies to theaters around the state. This great company is still running as Albuquerque Mail Service Inc./Southwestern Film Service. Preceding him in death, was his brother, Clint; his late wife, Carroll; and daughter, Mary Jon Johnson. Sidney is survived by his son, Sidney, and daughter-in-law, Charlene Johnson; and his two sisters, Ruth Miller and Zallie Biemer. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Robert Johnson, Sidney Johnson III, Bridgette Johnson, and Carroll Olson; and his five great-grandchildren, Deven, Marybeth, Noah, Eva, and Athena. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 9, 2008, Eleven o'clock a.m., at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 1100 Coal Ave SE, (505) 842-8800.
