CANZONERI -- Isabelle Francis Canzoneri, a resident at Lea County Good Samaritan Village in Hobbs, NM, died on January 17. She was 86. She was born August 23, 1921 in Seboyeta, NM and lived most of her life in Albuquerque, NM. Isabelle was the youngest daughter of Narciso Francis and Philomena Michael who had emigrated from Lebanon in the 1890s and established a ranch in Seboyeta, New Mexico. She attended St. Vincent's Girls Academy in Albuquerque, graduating in 1939 with the highest honors. She married John Canzoneri Sr. in 1951 and together they raised two children. John and Isabelle owned the popular restaurant, The Embers which was known for "great steaks" and "great jazz." After retiring from the restaurant business, Isabelle pursued her love of art and painting. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, six sisters, and husband. Isabelle is survived by her son, John Canzoneri Jr. and wife, Susan of Denver, CO; daughter, Mary Lyle and husband, Douglas of Hobbs; stepdaughters, Emanuela Ross and husband, Charles of Cincinnati, OH; and Joan Marie Rossi and husband, Nick of Corning, NY; her seventeen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, January 22 at 7:00 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Service. The Funeral Mass will be offered by Msgr. Francis Xavier Eggert on Wednesday, January 23 at 10:00 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel. Interment will take place immediately after the Mass.
