DRUM -- Mary Ruth Drum, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died on Thursday, January 17, 2008. She had been a patient of Vista Care Hospice after suffering a severe stroke. Mrs. Drum was born in Scranton, PA on January 27, 1916. She was a graduate of the Powell School of Business and Penn State University, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She taught school in Albuquerque for 20 years, and then in retirement, took up calligraphy and Chinese brush painting. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Mathwig and husband, Wayne, of Pryor, OK; two grandchildren, Emily Cacy and husband, Gary of Tahlequah, OK and Bill Mauldin and wife, Branda, of Tulsa, OK; and three great-grandchildren, Alexa Cacy, and Barrett and Gabriella Mauldin. According to the decedent's wishes, there will be no public services. She will be buried next to her husband of 62 years at Fairview Cemetery.
