VIGIL -- Kenneth Wayne Vigil, 70, of Bosque Farms, died Monday, January 14, 2008 after a brief illness. He was born in Denver, CO and resided in Albuquerque until his enlistment in the United State Air Force. Kenneth was a veteran with 24 years of distinguished service to his country. He worked in avionics on surveillance aircraft in Ton Son Nhut, Vietnam. When he retired from active duty in 1979, he was the head of standardization at the 86 MAS at Travis Air Force Base. He then went to work for the Chevron Corporation in Richmond, CA. Upon his retirement, Kenneth relocated to Tennant, CA before coming home to New Mexico in 2002. He is survived by longtime companion, Theresa Nelson and her children; his daughter, MSgt Verlie Vigil; his granddaughter, SarahGrace Gomez; his sister, Millie Cowan; and Elaine Harris Vigil. A Memorial Rosary will be recited at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January, 19, 2008 at St. Augustine Catholic Church on the Isleta Pueblo. A memorial Mass will be at 12:00 p.m. with Father Halaire Valiquette, OFM celebrant. Ennichement will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE.
