NERING -- Marian Kane Nering, age 82, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. She was born on February 6, 1925 to R.B. and Viola Kane in Topeka, KS. Marian was a resident of El Paso, TX since 1949 and was married to Dr. A. Robert Nering in 1947 and had four children. Marian received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas in English and taught at Crocket Elementary in El Paso, TX. She was active member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Community in El Paso, TX and was a former president of the Women's Auxiliary of the El Paso County Medical Society in 1967. Marian was also involved and helped establish YMCA Aqua Posse in the 1960's. Marian was a devoted mother and wife, who surrounded herself with her children, her love will never be forgotten. She was an avid bridge player and played regularly with some of her closest friends. Marian is survived by her children, Robert Bruce Nering of Silver City, NM; Marcia N. Hess and husband, Skip, of Albuquerque, NM and Mark K. Nering and wife, Leticia, of Edinburg, TX; eight grandchildren; and one sister, Florence Richie and husband, Ronald K. of Birmingham, AL. Marian was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. A.R. Nering; and her daughter, Christine Louise Lowrey. Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community with Father Jerry Plotkowski as the Celebrant.
