SAMMONS -- Arlene I. Sammons passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at the age of 87. She was born on April 3, 1920 to George and Marie (Ray) Decker in Salem, IL. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Elder and husband, Virgil, Becky Garcia and husband, Matthew, Patti Sandoval and husband, Rudy, all of Albuquerque; son, Richard Sammons and wife, Judy, of Sparks, NV; seven grandchildren, Kelly Elder, Kimberly Plowman and husband, Matthew, and Ryan Garcia, all of Albuquerque, Justin Averna and wife, Tiffany of Philadelphia, PA, Jesse Averna and wife, Michelle of NY, Blake Sammons and wife, Jennifer, and Ricki Sammons of Sparks, NV; five great-grandchildren, Dawson, Marissa, and Kamrie Plowman of Albuquerque and Madisyn and Jenna Sammons of Sparks, NV; sisters, Bernese Fulkerson of Salem, IL, Norene Plummer of Tucson, AZ, Monna Resinger and husband, Harry of Burleson, TX; special nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy M. Sammons; her parents; nephew, Eric; her brother, George Decker; and granddaughter, Debra Lee Ortiz. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Services will be held at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, Monday, December 3, 2007, 10:00 am with Pastor Ken Moore officiating. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
