MILLER -- Donald R. Miller, a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1956, went home to his Lord on Tuesday, November 27, 2007. Don was a veteran of WWII. He joined the Navy at seventeen years of age and served throughout the Pacific theater during the term of his enlistment. He met and married the love of his life, Lena, while on leave in San Francisco and they were married within a week, a union that lasted until the day he died. Don was born and raised in Pennsylvania, but came to New Mexico to raise his own family because this is where Lena's family lives. He never regretted that move. He treasured the mountains, rivers, lakes and deserts of New Mexico. He loved taking his truck to the desert or the mountains to hunt rocks or cut wood for the fireplace that he built himself. Don loved hunting and fishing and working around the house. He taught his sons how to shoot a deer, bait hooks, make and cook on a campfire, and took them hunting and fishing on a regular basis. Don was always working on some project around his house or his children's or grandchildren's homes. He was always available when someone needed something fixed and he knew how to fix anything. He even babysat his great-grandchildren when one of the grandchildren needed his help. Don was a member of the IBEW for 55 years and worked at Gamblin & Rodgers Electric for about 35 years before retiring. He was a member of Albuquerque Communication Rescue Association (ACRA) and the NRA. He was active in his church, the Shrine of St. Bernadette, until his health prevented him from continuing his duties there. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Martha Miller, Clarion, PA; his brother and sister-in-law, Delbert and Della Miller, FL; brothers-in-law, Salvador Vigil and Sevedeo Vigil, Santa Fe, NM; sisters-in-law, Nettie Martinez and Siria Lujan, Espanola, NM; and his beloved mother and father-in-law, Juanita and Espirion Vigil, Chimayo and Santa Fe, NM. Don is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Lena Miller; his daughter and son-in-law, Dianna and David Trujillo; two sons, Donald J. Miller and special friend, Kay Kucsma, and David C. Miller; his much-loved daughter-in-law, Leda Miller; grandchildren, Michelle Trujillo and fiance, Anthony Romero, Alex Trujillo and wife, April, Yvonne Sandoval and husband, Luis, Shawn Miller and wife, Libby, Jayson Miller, Donald O.
