PETERSEN -- Veronica Ann Lyle Petersen was born on February 1, 1953 in Leavenworth, KS to Lt. Col. John R. and Thelma P. Lyle. She grew up in Albuquerque and attended Annunciation Elementary School, St. Pius X High School and graduated from Sandia High School, where she was a varsity cheerleader. She was employed as a flight attendant for United Airlines in New York City for 25 years. She married Jeff Petersen and befriended his daughter, Lisa Petersen Johnson. Her son, Jeffrey Lyle Petersen was born in 1988. They lived in Seaford, NY where she loved spending time with Jeffrey and his many young friends. They enjoyed swimming, boating and the beauty of living by the ocean in Long Island. They completed their family by obtaining her dog, Mijo, who brought her so much joy. Veronica's love of family and the Southwest brought her back to Albuquerque where she cared for her 92 year old father in his home. Her love for live and her vitality will never by forgotten, as she touched so many people with her free spirit and warm heart. Veronica was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma P. Lyle; and a brother, John R. Lyle, M.D. Veronica is survived by her son, Jeffrey Lyle Petersen; step-daughter, Lisa Johnson; her father, Lt. Col. John R. Lyle, Sr.; her brother, Michael Wm. Lyle and wife, Kim; sister, Mary Utrup and husband, Bill, daughter, Anna Marie Bonachea and son, Matthew Utrup; sister, Martha Lyle-Erhard and husband, Bruce, son, Michael J. Hankins and wife, Christina and their son, Aiden Lucas Lyle Hankins, daughter, Tara Hankins McHazlett and husband Lance. She will also be missed by her large extended family and her many friends. A Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Daniels Family Funeral Service, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE. A Funeral Mass will be at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2007 at Our Lady of Annunciation, 2610 Utah NE, with burial to follow at Gate of Heaven.
