VAN GUNDY -- Myra L. Van Gundy, 47, of Albuquerque, passed Tuesday, November 6, 2007. She was born March 4, 1960 in Farmington, NM and relocated to Albuquerque in the same month. Myra was preceded in death by her father, Donald Wayne Kasner and many other cousins, uncles, and grandparents. Myra graduated in 1977 from Del Norte High School and went on to get her degree at UNKM. She worked her way through college and life at First National Bank which became First Security Bank. She loved softball, skiing and most other sports and other adventures. She spent her last days at Ladera Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility where she received the best of care with an exceptional group of people. Her family and friends wish to express the most sincere gratitude for their compassion and kindness in Myra's final Days. The same gratitude goes to the Ambercare Hospice professionals who were with Myra for most of her time. Myra is survived by her parents, Ginger and John Van Gundy and her siblings, Kathy, Barbara, Bobby, Eddy Van Gundy and Laura Struck. Her many nieces and nephews, her Kasner and Van Gundy families and many wonderful friends. We will celebrate Myra's life on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Christine Montano officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the National Parkinson's Foundation, 1501 NW 9th Avenue/Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida 33136-1494.
