SHETTLESWORTH -- Emily L. Shettlesworth, of Abilene, TX, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2007 at the age of 83. A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2007 at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler, TX. Rev. Ken Huggins of Huntsville, TX will officiate. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, in Abilene, TX. Born June 6, 1924, in Kite, GA, Emily was the daughter of Virgil M. Smith and Georgia (Chipley) Smith. She graduated from Clearwater High School in Clearwater, FL. February 13, 1945, Emily married John F. Shettlesworth in Bartow, FL. She owned and operated Merle Norman for 20 years. Emily's parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, John Shettlesworth, of Abilene; her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Mary Ellen Shettlesworth, of Albuquerque, NM; her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Stanley Moore, of Loraine, TX; two brothers and their wives, Ellie and Lydia Smith, of Houston, TX, and Barney and Joann Smith, of Bowling Green, OH; five grandchildren, Brooke Weldon and husband, Daryl of San Angelo, TX, Michael Moore and wife, Paige, of Spring, TX, Kyle Moore and wife, Bea, of North Richland Hills, TX, Ryan Shettlesworth and wife, Amanda, of Bloomington, IN, Alan Shettlesworth and wife, Lindsay, of Albuquerque; five great-grandchildren, Jeremy Cooper, Brittney and Chelsea Weldon, and Haley and Lauren Moore.
