ROBERT -- Elaine Robert passed away in Albuquerque October 4, 2007 from complications of heart disease. She was born May 4, 1922 in Vienna, Austria and emigrated to the United States with her family in November 1938. Her husband, the eminent pianist George Robert, whom she had married in 1944, preceded her in death. Elaine will be sorely missed and remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, as well as a wonderful friend to legions of people who reveled in her warmth, support, generosity, fabulous cooking and great sense of humor. One could always count on her to be available and immensely helpful. Elaine taught German at UNM for over two decades. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy (Carl) Widhalm; her grandsons, Jason (Stephanie) Clark, Brandon Clark, and Ryan (Heather) Clark, all of Denver; her brother, Fred (Lane) Todrys of New York; several nephews and cousins. Elaine and George supported numerous organizations over the years. In their spirit memorial gifts may be made to: Albuquerque Chamber Soloists, P.O. Box 92184, Albuquerque, NM 87199-2184; American Heart Association, 2201 San Pedro NE, Building 2, Suite 102, Albuquerque, NM 87110; Planned Parenthood, 719 San Mateo NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
