PUENTES -- Salavdor Joshua Puentes, 23, a resident of Bayard, entered eternal rest Friday, September 28. He was born August 8, 1984, in Silver City to Michael Joseph Puentes and Priscilla Lucero. He was a truly loved son, brother, cousin, grandson, uncle and loyal friend. Dancing with him was always a blast; he was the life of the party. He was always in pursuit of the next best thing, including catching the biggest fish. A career in wildlife biology, visiting Alaska, and exploring the world were what he wanted to accomplish in life. He was so full of life. He loved to make everyone laugh with all his silly jokes and his comedy acts. He was loved by all, and for those who did not have the fortune of knowing him, they missed out on such a beautiful person. He has family all over the world and has friends just about everywhere -- Colorado, Wyoming, Arizona, Mississippi, New Mexico and who knows where else. Every life he touched was truly fortunate. He has been reunited with his best friends, Dodger and Dozier. He will be missed dearly. He is everywhere. Mr. Puentes is survived by his parents, Michael and Priscilla Puentes of Albuquerque; one brother, Joseph Puentes of Albuquerque; two sisters, Michelle Alvarado and husband, Luis, of Bayard, and Jessica Puentes of Rio Rancho; maternal grandparents, Angel Lucero and Delfina Naranjo of Silver City; paternal grandparents, Salvador "Chava" Puentes and Sara of Magdalena; uncles and aunts, Sam Olney and wife Liz, of Magdalena, Patrick and Fala Puentes of Rio Rancho, Amy Lujan of Rio Rancho, Robert and Denise Puentes of Albuquerque, George and Belinda Rodriguez, of Las Cruces, and Randy and Suzana Limon of Las Cruces; and numerous cousins. Mr. Puentes was preceded in death by an uncle, Andy Lujan, in 1999. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 4-6 p.m. at Terrazas Funeral Chapels, with the Prayer Vigil beginning at 6 p.m. and Deacon Richard Rodriguez, Ernestina Martinez and Dolores Ortiz reciting. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Bayard, with Father Virgilio Flores officiating Interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Royce Olney, Josh Limon, Andrew Lujan, Joe Paul Arbizu, Scotty Buscema, and George Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers will be Randall Limon, Mason Sehr, Vince Buscema, John Paul Hill, Eddie Huerta, Dominic Rodriguez, and Luis Alvarado. Donations may be made to the Chino Federal Credit Union.
