RICHARDS -- GERALD R. JR. "Dick", Gerald R. Richards Jr., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on September 5, 2007. He is survived by his loving wife, Maebi Richards; his son, David Mark Richards; his daughters, Laura Lynn Richards and Lillian Elizabeth Richards; his loved step-children, Matthias Diedrich, Andrea and Nathan Reese, Arnika Diedrich; and his grandsons, Ryan and Kyle; and granddaughters, Rhiana and Meygan. Dick was born in Brooklyn General Hospital, NY, on March 6, 1934. The Welsh Charge Nurse gave him his nickname "Dick" as a proper name for a Welsh Man (Richard Richards). He lived and traveled throughout the world. He was a decorated Air Force Lieutenant Colonel retiree. After retiring he had a successful career with Mountain Bell, USWEST and Qwest as an Account Executive, retiring again in 1990. Since then he has lived in his love affair with his adopted New Mexico, enjoying the richness of life in his family and writing poetry, often published. He did volunteer work for the Albuquerque Senior Affairs Department, charity work and helped start Bosque School. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate memorial contributions to be made to a charity of your choice. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Our Lady Queen of Angels Liberal Catholic Church, 1701 Tulip Rd.
