GALVIN -- Carmen C. Galvin died on Tuesday morning August 21, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. Carmen will be deeply missed by not only her husband of 31 years, Chris Galvin, and two sons, Eric and Shaun but by friends and family across the country. Carmen was born in Santa Fe, NM on January 1, 1955 and was adopted by her loving parents Joe and Christie Quintana. She met her high-school sweetheart and future husband Chris in Albuquerque, NM where she grew up. Carmen and Chris moved to Greeley, CO where she received a degree in Special Education from UNC. Carmen and Chris's two sons were born in Greeley and the family moved across the country from Maryland, to Texas, then Minnesota and most recently Lincoln, NE. Wherever Carmen went her joyous spirit and infusive warmth added close friends to her family. In 2005 Carmen was happily reunited with her birth mother Margie Martinez and her family in Raton, NM. Carmen loved that she was able to have a relationship with all of her siblings and Margie and her husband James. Carmen is survived by her husband, Chris Galvin, sons, Eric and Shaun Galvin, cousins: Vicky Gonzales, Genevieve Romero and family; Lou, Pat and Gabe Jaureguiberry, Christopher Gonzales, Andrea O'Hagen, Michele Gonzales, Matthew Gonzales and family; Gloria Martinez, Helen Quintana, numerous cousins from the Quintana family; her birth mother Margie Martinez and husband, James, siblings: Angel Luksich, Betty Navares, Joann Roman, Edna Sandoval, Novella Hernandez, James Martinez Jr., Sam Martinez. Carmen we love and miss you. Thank you for all the love you shared and for teaching us how to love and serve others. You'll be remembered in our hearts and prayers throughout the rest of our lives. A Rosary will be recited Monday, August 27, 2007, 7 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 28, 2007, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
