CHAVEZ -- Erlinda "Lucy" Chavez, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away August 10, 2007 at the age of 86. Mrs. Chavez is preceded in death by her brother, Lloyd Salazar; mother, Helen Salazar; and father, Henry Salazar. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Julian "Ted" Chavez; sons, Ted Chavez and wife, Jann, and David Chavez; sister, Mary Candelaria; grandchildren, Julian, Jessica and Sonya Chavez; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation for Mrs. Chavez will be held on Friday, August 17, 2007 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Funeral Services for will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Queen of Heaven Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tony Gilbert, Joe Vigil, Julian Chavez, Jessica Chavez, and Sonya Chavez. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association.
