MAARANEN -- Amanda Ann ("Minnie") Maaranen died peacefully at home on July 25, 2007. Born on June 22, 1978 in Fontana, CA, Amanda was a long-time resident of Los Alamos, and more recently of Santa Fe, NM. Amanda brought joy and purpose to the many who knew her. She is survived by her mother and father, Denise and Steve of Santa Fe; sisters, Sara Jane and Emma; grandparents Gloria and Floyd Hinton of Lake Oswego, OR; aunts and uncles, Deanna and Pat Jaques of Shelton, WA, Mike and Karen Maaranen of Sherwood, OR, Jennifer and Stefan Hinton of Portland, OR, and Suzie and Brad Hinton of Kinnesaw, GA. Amanda will live in the memory of her family, loving caregivers, friends, and medical staff who worked to make each day count for Amanda. Cremation has taken place. There will be an open house to celebrate Amanda's life on August 4, 2007 from 1-3 p.m. at the home of Amanda's parents.
