FRY -- Richard John Fry, 62, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on May 4, 2007 in Greensberg, KS. Rich was born August 23, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Olga and Jack Fry. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1971 as an Air Defense Missile Mechanic where he earned medals for National Defense Service, Good Conduct, and Marksman Rifle. Rich was a longtime employee of Modern Business Systems in Albuquerque where he retired in 2006. He had relocated to Silver City, NM, where he practiced art, poetry, and photography. His artwork has been displayed in several art galleries in and around Silver City. Rich was preceded in death by his parents and brother. He is survived by his daughter, Beth Fry; and three grandchildren, Holly, Jason, and Donald Fry, all of Andover, KS; a sister-in-law, Diane Fry of Bartlett, IL; a niece, Debra (Rick) Severinsen of Sugar Grove, IL; two nephews, Jim (Joyce) Fry of Bartlett, IL, and Jeff (Jacki) Fry; and a great-niece, Alex Fry, all of Sugar Grove, IL; numerous beloved cousins; and a host of treasured friends and acquaintances. Please join us for a Celebration of Rich's life and artwork on August 4, 2007 at 4 p.m. in Silver City, NM at the VFW Bayard Post 3347. An avid outdoors man throughout his life, Rich's love for the earth and animals was an inspiration for his life and artistry. In lieu of flowers, please donate on Rich's behalf to one of his favorite charities, New Mexico Animal Friends, Animal Protection of New Mexico, Forest Guardians, or any other charity which provides protection for the earth and it's inhabitants.
