GOODMAN -- Anna Isabel Howard Goodman "Annie", age 88, was born August 5, 1918 in Clauson, NM. Annie passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at Broken Bow Nursing Home in Broken Bow, OK where she currently resided. Annie was born to Fred Ernest Howard and Myrtle Claudine Heath in Clauson, NM, which is in the Gallup area, and she lived there for many years. When Annie was fifteen, she and went to live with her grandparents in Porter, NM, in Jemez. There, she met Tommy Goodman, that good-looking guy that moved to Porter with his family from over around the Clayton area. Annie and Tommy married September 19, 1936 in Bernalillo, NM and moved back to Porter. Tommy worked in the log woods in and around New Mexico and Arizona until they retired and settled in Cuba, NM, where Annie worked in the Cuban Cafe for Cecil and Shorty Stephens and then the new owners, Margie and Bob Putt. When Annie retired, they moved to Canyon, NM where they made their home for many years. Annie truly loved working, being a waitress and talking with all the people who came and went through the cafe. She made many friends and was loved by most everyone she came in contact with. She tended to be a little sassy, but the customer was almost always right, "you can eat it or wear it - suits me either way". Annie gave advice, consoled, taught, and led by example, and she loved. She loved her family and friends. Annie could pick a favorite person, take care of them and help them all she could, maybe, it was like she knew that they needed a special person on their side. Since Tommy's passing in 1996, Annie first stayed in Canyon for a few years and then moved to Oklahoma. She has been living in the Broken Bow Nursing Home for several years where she made numerous friends. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Ernest Howard and Myrtle Claudine Heath Uribes; her husband of 60 years, Tommy B. Goodman; daughter, Alice Kay Goodman; sister, Ruby Ramirez; brothers, Raymond Sosa, Johnny Sosa, Freddy Howard and Gregory Uribes; aunts, Dorothy Darnell and Lula Heath; friends, Bernie Ralston and Myrtle Wakefield.
