GREENMUN -- Francis Everett Greenmun, 76, a resident of Albuquerque, NM and a former resident of Grand Junction, CO, passed away May 14, 2007. His beloved wife of 38 years and other family members were at his bedside. He was born and raised in Harpursville, NY on May 31, 1930. His parents, Francis and Wilhelmina Greenmun of Harpursville, NY; his brother, Gilbert Greenmun of Phoenix, AZ; and his sister, Mavis Multer of Conklin, NY preceded him in death. He joined the U.S. Army after graduating from high school. He served during the Korean War with the 82nd Airborne where he earned his wings as a paratrooper, then was selected to join the elite 6th Ranger Co. He was a life member of RICA, DAV, and the VFW. After retiring he went to tech school in Denver, CO and later set up his own TV repair shop in Grand Junction, CO. Survivors include his beloved wife, Olivia from Albuquerque; daughter, Mitzi Kenyon and husband, Dan; sons, Gary Greenmun and Rev. Ron Duran, all from Grand Junction, CO. Other survivors include his two granddaughters, Mandy Kenyon of California and Valerie Coniff and husband, Doug; his two great-grandchildren, Cole and Wade Coniff, all from Grand Junction, CO; his brother, James Greenmun from Binghamton, NY; sisters, Rosalie Greenman from Kingston, PA and Thelma Schlacta from Los Alamitos, CA. Also surviving are his sisters and brothers-in-law, Anne Greenmun from Phoenix, AZ, Estella Valverde (Joe), Rebecca Medina (Amadeo), Benjamin Montoya (Janet), Felix Montoya (Cristina), all of Albuquerque, and Joe Montoya (Virginia) from Springer, NM. Also surviving are many nephews, nieces, and friends. His adoring tabby, Elsa also survives. Those who knew him loved him and we will miss him. Viewing will be on Monday, May 21, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel at REFLECTIONS, 2400 Washington Street NE, 884-5777; Funeral Services will begin at 11:30 a.m. with Dr. Larry Kennedy of Lighthouse Baptist Church officiating and Joe Montoya will bring the eulogy. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Veteran's National Cemetery in Santa Fe. Bennie Montoya, Felix Montoya, David Medina, Eddie Medina, Joe Valverde, and Amadeo Medina will serve at pallbearers with Rev. Ron Duran and Gary Greenmun as honorary pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Humane Society of New Mexico, or the Lung and/or Heart Association in Albuquerque.
