HOLLANDER-VINSON -- Myrtle Much loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Myrtle Hollander-Vinson, 92, died on May 4, 2007, surrounded by people she loved and who loved her. Myrtle grew up in New York City, and lived for many years in Costa Rica, and in Albuquerque. She was a mathematician, a teacher, a prominent business woman, a writer and a world traveler. She was an incredibly gracious person who lived life to the fullest and always with grace and charm. Myrtle was a feminist and a pacifist all of her life. She supported the United Nations Association, the American Civil Liberties Union, Amnesty International and other organizations working for world peace and racial justice. She was strongly opposed to the war in Iraq. Myrtle is survived by her daughter Nancy of Albuquerque; son and daughter in law; Neil and Regine of Paris, France, grandson, Jesse and his wife Allison; and great-granddaughter Jade of Las Vegas, NV, and her long-time best friend Marian. She was predeceased by her first husband Howard; her second husband Neal; and her dear friend Victor. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful people who cared for her at Presbyterian Hospice and Alliance Home Health Care. At her request, there will be no public service.
