GARCIA -- Serafin A. Garcia "Sam", age 73, was born October 28, 1933. He passed away Thursday, April 26, 2007. Serafin was a member of the American Legion Post 69, the SNMDMP #2, and he honorably served in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tomas Garcia and Amelia Armenta Garcia. Serafin is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rosemary; "their daughter", Linda Garcia Benavides and husband, Gilbert; sisters, Audelina Garcia, Dora Moya and husband, Ernesto; and Francela Mari, his favorite cousin; brothers, Eddie S. Garcia, Higinio Garcia, and Henry Garcia; other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Services will be held at St. Therese Catholic Church on 4th and Mildred NW, Monday, April 30, 2007. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Burial will then take place at San Carlos Cemetery with US. Army Honors. Pallbearers will be Albert Garcia, Eddie Garcia Jr., Michael Nuanes, Lawrence Moya, Raymond Moya, and Nick Silvas. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Lucero and Paul Martinez. The family would like to thank the following people who were so kind, supportive and loving during Serafin's illness and death; Samaritan Care Hospice, especially Denise Irwin, Denise his nurse, John his nurse and tech, Loretta Chavez his nurse and our angel, Mine Seher Seniye his and Rosemary's angel, Susan and all of their staff, also the nursing staff at Valle Norte who were so caring and patient with him while he was at Valle Norte.
