HANDY -- Thomas Handy, 83, a 19 yr. Resident of Rio Rancho, passed away April 17, 2007. Tom was born May 15, 1923 in Kirkcaldy, Fife, Scotland. Tom was a WWII Veteran serving in The Kings Own Scottish Borders. He served for 3 yr. After the War on the War Crimes Commission. Tom appeared on a weekly TV series for BBC in London called DANCE THIS WAY where Katherine and Arthur Murray saw him and ask him to come to the US to teach their teachers. Tom immigrated to the US in 1961. After leaving Arthur Murray's he and his Partner worked as entertainer's in the Catskill Mt. Resorts. He moved to Albuquerque in 1972 where he owned and operated Tomar Dance Studio until 1986. At the same time he was a Real estate broker and worked in property management. When he retired he moved to Rio Rancho. Tom is survived by his wife of 19 years, Peggy, and his 3 children, Patricia, Linda, both of Port Jervis, NY and Graham of London, England, 9 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
