REES -- Phyllis O'Connor Rees, 95, passed away April 1, 2007. She is survived by her children, Phyllis Richardson and husband, Jacob, David Y. Rees and wife, Phylis, Wayne Rees and wife, Lucy of Colorado Springs, CO, and John Rees; sister, Genevieve Carlisle of Redondo Beach, CA; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Yule B. Rees. She was born September 6, 1911 in Kansas City, MO and graduated in 1933 from St. Catherines College in St. Paul, MN. Phyllis was a Latin and English teacher at Sandia High School and taught elementary classes at Holy Ghost School. She was also a member of Holy Ghost Parish. Phyllis was a loving and caring wife, mother and sister who will be greatly missed by all of her family. Her family extends a special "thank you" to caregivers, Rozlyn and Jeanette of Vista Care Hospice for their loving care of our Mom. Rosary will be recited on Monday, April 9, 2007, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, 9:00 a.m., at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona SE. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. Friends may visit French Mortuary on Monday, April 9, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Pat Greene, John Headrick, Chris Hollin, George Jackson, Fred Long, and Jacob Richardson.
