MONTANO -- Karl Abe Montano, age 56, of Rio Rancho, passed away Friday, April 6, 2007. He was born and raised in Albuquerque, and graduated from Albuquerque High School. After graduation, Karl served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from the City of Albuquerque, Water Department, after more than 25 years of service. Karl enjoyed golfing, fishing, and camping with his family and other close friends. Karl was a loving father to his children, Michelle Montano, James Romero, and Renee Solis; a beloved "Papa" to his granddaughter, Oriana and his other grandchildren; parents, Abe and Patricia Montano; sisters, Debra Vigil and her husband Jose, Gina Garcia and her husband Bill, Victoria Montano; brother, Mark Montano. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but, especially by his dad, who was his best friend. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 9, at 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary Westside Chapel with private family interment at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
