KELLEY -- BILLIE FRANCES (PEEK) KELLEY, died April 4, 2007 following a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents; by sisters Lula Vee Peek and Joy (Sug) Hart; by brothers Tommy Pat and Joe Peek; and by former husbands Jack Hennigan and Oswald Lee Wright. Billie was born April 7, 1929 in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, to Joe G. and Ella Mae (Gleason) Peek, and grew up on a homestead near Fence Lake, New Mexico. She graduated from Fence Lake High School. She lived in numerous towns in New Mexico, as well as in Arizona, Utah, and California before moving to Los Alamos. Billie worked for the Los Alamos National Laboratory for 23 years. During this time she also earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business and Public Administration. After retirement she moved to Tyrone, NM. Billie loved dancing, reading and sewing. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Edwin Kelley; sisters Corrine Mullins and Jenna Fowler; sister-in-law Mary Peek; children Orbry Wright and wife Kathie, Shirley Jarrell and husband Hal, Debbie Wright, Carolyn Blossom, Billie Clark and husband Chris, Barbara Sanchez and husband David, Kat Brophy and husband Dan; step-children Rick Kelley and wife Shari, Cindy Kelley, Ed Kelley, Jr., and wife Brenda, Janet Caldwell and husband Jack, Mary Lou Holmes and husband David, Deb Evans and husband Ed, John Kelley, Kenny Clark, Bruce Clark. Billie has 23 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was especially fond of all of her nieces and nephews. Billie has requested that her remains be cremated. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home, located at 623 N. Railroad Ave. Espanola, NM 87532. Interment will follow at 12:00 noon at Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos. Following the burial, a reception for friends and family will be held at VFW Post 8874, 1793 Deacon St., Los Alamos, at 1:00 p.m. Billie requested that donations could be made to the American Cancer Society.
